Feasts and Family

That's what Thanksgiving is all about. If we are lucky -- and I am feeling very lucky and blessed these days -- we sit down to tables surrounded by family and friends and we feast together and remember our many blessings of love and larder. On Thursday, a big bunch of our family and friends shared an elegant, formal table and ate and drank to our fill -- turkey, goose, dressing, stuffed pumpkin, salad, veggies, tea, wine and very yummy pies -- all served in the warm atmosphere of Duffy's Barn. Many thanks go to Duffy for yet again serving up such a generous and delicious Thanksgiving feast. (Just this week I learned of a new non-profit coalition of college students and community volunteers, located in Carrboro, that is committed to feeding hungry children in Chapel Hill and Carrboro. If you want to support them, go to http://www.tablenc.org/.)
